HMK® R161 is a concentrated alkaline-based porcelain tile cleaner specially formulated for glazed, unglazed, polished, honed, and natural effect porcelain tile surfaces. Designed for both interior and exterior applications, it effectively removes:

• Oily and greasy deposits

• General construction dirt & installation residue

• Light cement film & grout haze

• Film buildup from regular cleaning products

Safe for polished porcelain surfaces, HMK® R161 is ideal for initial cleaning prior to sealing with HMK® S43 Porcelain Tile Impregnator as well as periodic maintenance to keep porcelain surfaces looking their best.

Directions for Use

1. Preparation: Protect surrounding areas and pre-wet the tile surface thoroughly to prevent bleaching (mandatory step). If underfloor heating exists, switch it off and allow surface to cool.

2. Application: Dilute HMK® R161 with water (1:2 to 1:10 depending on soil level). For heavy contamination, it can be used stronger.

3. Cleaning: Apply evenly and allow to work for about 10 minutes (do not allow to dry). Scrub using a stiff brush, white/tan pad, or sponge.

4. Rinsing: Rinse the area thoroughly with clean water—flood rinse first, then a second rinse to remove all residues. For best results, use a wet vacuum and add HMK® Z702 Defoamer to control foam.

5. Repeat if necessary for stubborn or ingrained dirt.

⚠️ For removal of cement or grout residues, use HMK® R63 Concrete Film Remover instead.

Safety & Storage

⚠️ Warning: Contains sodium hydroxide. Corrosive. Avoid eye and skin contact. If exposed, flush thoroughly with water. Keep out of reach of children.

• Store in a cool place with lid tightly sealed.

• Do not use below 50°F (12°C) or above 77°F (25°C).

• Not suitable for polished marble, limestone, aluminum, plastics, polished or waxed wood, or lacquered surfaces. Rinse splashes immediately if contact occurs.

• Always test in an inconspicuous area before full application.
