HMK® S242 is a ready-to-use solvent-based impregnator designed to protect and enhance all natural and artificial stone surfaces, including soft and hard stones, terrazzo, agglomerates, and reconstituted stone. Unlike standard sealers, S242 can be used on polished, honed, and textured finishes, making it highly versatile for both interior and exterior applications.

By reducing water and dirt penetration, HMK® S242 makes regular maintenance easier while helping to prevent common outdoor problems such as algae, fungus, and staining. In addition, this professional-grade sealer enhances the natural color and structure of the stone, bringing out its grain and texture for a richer, more vibrant appearance.

⚠️ Note: HMK® S242 is not effective against oil and grease. For oil protection, consider HMK® S234 or HMK® S244.

Recommended Uses

Application Instructions

1. Clean the surface with HMK® R155 Intensive Cleaner (acid-free), rinse thoroughly, and allow to dry at least 24 hours (residual moisture < 2–4%).

2. Switch off underfloor heating and allow the stone to cool to room temperature.

3. Apply HMK® S242 generously and evenly with a natural bristle brush, roller, or HMK® Z950/Z951 brushes.

4. One wet-on-wet application is usually sufficient. For highly absorbent surfaces, additional applications may be required.

5. Remove all excess before it dries to avoid streaks. Smears can be buffed with a clean cloth moistened with S242.

6. Allow 4–6 hours before walking on the surface. Full protection develops after 24 hours.

For long-term maintenance, use HMK® P324 Liquid Stone Soap during regular cleaning.
